Hochul: Canadian technology company to make $25 million investment in Rochester, bring 100+ jobs

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— New York Gov.Kathy Hochul Tuesday announced more than 100 jobs will come along to the Rochester area as a Candian technology company plans to set up shop.
Hochul said Toronto-based Delta-X Global Corp. has committed to building its United States research and manufacturing headquarters in Rochester, starting with a $25 million investment to buy and renovate a building on the Kodak campus along Lake Avenue.
The building is currently the home of an AIM Photonics Testing, Assembly, and Packaging facility. The company will also buy a second facility along Airpark Road near the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport.
The company is pledging to bring in up to 102 new jobs, with a focus on being fully operational by early 2026.
Delta-X is known for designing, engineering, and manufacturing high-performance, fully automated solutions for industrial and digital automation, printing, security, and encryption platforms.
According to Hochul, the company plans to establish its research and development facility at the Lake Ave location, with its manufacturing operations at the other facility.

The existing photonics facility takes up two floors of the Lake Avenue facility and will remain at the site. According to the governor, New York’s Empire State Development will chip in up to $3.5 million through the Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit Program in exchange for the job creation.
The city, and Monroe County will also provide support, though specifics were not shared.
