WEBSTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Lots of young athletes have that dream of heading to the big stage. NBC gives them the opportunity to do just that with a nationally televised annual showcase event that brings out some of the best high school football players around. That includes one student-athlete from Webster Schroeder.
Junior wide receiver Torance Washington Jr. got an invite to the showcase event set to take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
He was a big part of the Warriors’ run to the Class A1 semifinals and believes the warrior war helped him get there.
Odell Beckham Jr., Derrick Henry, Tim Tebow, Trevor Lawrence, and Devonta Smith are just a few of the names Washington Jr. will join when he heads down south.
“They did a good job cause I got to play a lot so it’s going to help with my stamina and game I’m going to play in,” Washington Jr said. “That’s really a good thing. And my teammates and my coaches, they always give me that confidence and expect me to make plays and I do it for them.”
The game is scheduled for January 8th at noon on News 10 NBC.
