GENEVA, NY. (WHEC) – A Geneva woman was arrested and another person is being sought in connection with a body that was found over the weekend.
Geneva police arrested 21-year-old Kiara E. Scott for Manslaughter and Concealment of a Human Corpse on Wednesday. She was taken to Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
On Sunday, Geneva police found a dead body in a parking lot behind Geneva General Hospital. The investigation revealed the cause of death to be suspicious. Police identified the deceased as 44-year-old Keith Morlang, of Waterloo.
Investigation revealed that the victim had a medical emergency in the Town of Waterloo during the early morning hours of June 5. Police say Kiara Scott, and others, told his family members that they were taking him to the hospital, but instead, Scott took the victim to a parking lot, dumped him there and hid his body.
Police are currently trying to locate another suspect, 24-year-old Lacritia Verstraete.
This investigation remains on-going. There are more charges pending.
