Mayor Warren’s husband, Tim Granison attempting plea deal in gun, drug case

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The husband of Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren, Timothy Granison, is attempting to reach a plea deal with federal prosecutors as he faces multiple drug and gun charges, his attorney confirmed to News10NBC.

Granison appeared in federal court in a teleconference appearance Tuesday morning. Attorney John DiMarco said he and the prosecution have had "substantive" discussions on what a deal would look like.

Granison, along with five other people, was arrested back in May as the culmination of a seven-month wiretap investigation.

Police say they found 31 grams of cocaine in Granison’s car. Eight total locations were raided as part of the investigation, and law enforcement seized three firearms, one semi-automatic rifle, more than two kilos of powder and crack cocaine and more than $100,000 in cash. He’s also charged with illegal possession of a handgun.

Mayor Warren, who also faced gun and child endangerment charges in connection to the investigation, agreed to a plea deal in her campaign finance case, that deal satisfied the charges. As a result, she will resign in December.

A judge previously denied a motion to dismiss the charges.

DiMarco said the two sides will continue to review and discuss any evidence law enforcement may have against Granison, though DiMarco maintains most of the evidence predates when investigators began being looking into him as part of the wire-tap.

Granison is expected to be back in court on Dec.21 at 10 a.m.
