ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Organizations in Rochester are teaming up to offer people $100 gift cards as a reward for getting vaccinated against COVID-19.
The initiative started Friday, Sept. 10 and will run through Sept. 30.
The incentive is only available for the first dose of the vaccine.
Anyone who meets age qualifications can receive the gift card.
Those younger than 18 will need the consent of their parent or guardian to get vaccinated.
Those who want the incentive are encouraged to make an appointment at any Monroe County vaccine clinic, though walk-ins are also welcome at many locations.
Some vaccine clinic locations offer the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine for those 18 and older, and others offer the two-dose Pfizer vaccine for those 12 and older.

The United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes, ESL Federal Credit Union, Wegmans Food Markets, Paychex, Greater Rochester Health Foundation and Konar Foundation are all behind the initiative.
