ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Honor Flight Rochester is postponing its fall 2021 missions until spring 2022.
That includes Mission 70 scheduled for Sept. 11 and Sept. 12, which would have marked the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, until spring 2022.
Honor Flight announced the decision on Aug. 24, saying “The coronavirus situation is not going away. The variant is spreading quickly and the safety of Veterans is paramount.”
The organization did say that the decision to resume spring missions will be based on the risk factors at that time.
Honor Flight missions take veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit war monuments.
