Man arrested in Gerling Place shooting

Just before midnight Saturday, officers responded to the area of Gerling Place and Maple Street after reports of a man shooting a handgun at a woman.

When police arrived, they found a 21-year-old woman from Rochester with at least one gun shot wound to her upper body. She was taken to Strong Hospital in an ambulance to be treated for her injuries, which police described as non-life threatening.

26-year-old Roosevelt Kinney Jr. was arrested and charged with assault and two counts of criminal possesion of a weapon.
