Police: 17-year-old charged with murder in June double shooting on Genesee Street

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police Friday announced they made an arrest in a June homicide that happened on Genesee Street.
18-year-old Christopher Wood died from the injuries he sustained in the June 12 shooting and a 14-year-old boy Wood was walking down the street with was injured.
The Rochester Police Department’s Tactical Unit conducted a traffic stop Thursday night and charged 17-year-old Jah’miere Williams with second degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, after they say they found a stolen, loaded .40 handgun.
Williams was also charged with second degree murder as a result of the Major Crimes Unit’s investigation into the shooting that killed Wood.
Williams was arraigned Thursday night and was remanded without bail into the custody of the Office of Children Services.
Police say more charges may be filed against Williams as the investigation is still ongoing.
