RIT renames computer security hub, updates facility

ROCHESTER, N .Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Institute of Technology’s computer security hub now has a new, more official name.
It’ll be called the ESL Global Cybersecurity Institute and was unveiled Tuesday morning on the RIT campus.
ESL Federal Credit Union gave $3 million dollars toward the partnership, as well as upgrades to the facility. The center was created in 2020 and longterm goals are to put RIT at the forefront of cybersecurity education, training, and research.
More than 2.7 million jobs are available across the world in cybersecurity, according to a research study. It is one of the fastest growing industries in the world.
