ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Police Department is asking for help identifying a person of interest in its investigation of the deadly hit-and-run that happened on North Winton Road in early February.
The crash happened early in the morning of Feb. 6 near Blossom Road. Richard Massey Jr., 36, was driving when he saw a car crash that involved someone he knew. Police say he got out of his car to check on the person when one of the drivers involved in the crash hit him and drove off, leaving Massey to die in the street.
Police have since found the owner of the car involved in the hit-and-run, but have had issues getting that person to cooperate with the investigation. Investigators have been searching for witnesses as they continue their investigation.
Police say the person of interest they are trying to identify was at a pub on Blossom Road the night of Feb. 5 into Feb. 6.
