ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Seneca Waterways Council, BSA Thursday kicked off its 13th year of 21 Stories for Scouts.

On Friday, May 13, 94 brave volunteers will rappel down the iconic Kodak Tower.

The event raises funds supporting local scouting outreach programs.

"A huge chunk of the money is going to really to help support scouts in (the) inner-city Rochester area that’s the biggest chunk of where we spend money, but it also goes to all those counties we described for camperships, funds for kids to go to camp who otherwise wouldn’t have that opportunity," said Stephen Hoitt.

It also pays for after-school programs, uniforms and more.

Over its 12-year history, the event has raised more than $1.2 million. Last year, Deanna Dewberry faced her fear of heights to do it.

This year, Raven Brown will take the plunge.
