ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC celebrates Black History Month by honoring the people and places that have paved the way for many in the Rochester area.

No boss? Your loss. Boss Sauce is an upstate New York staple that’s been spicing up lives since 1983.

Eddie Harris, the owner of American Specialty Manufacturing Company, started bottling up the secret family recipe before it quickly became a hit.

Harris was featured in News10NBC’s Small Business Spotlight series.

Boss Sauce comes in mild, hot, and thicker-richer with distribution in eight states.

This family-owned company provides local jobs at their factory on Hudson Avenue, pumping out Boss Sauce by the gallons.

That’s why Boss Sauce is a part of Rochester’s Roots.
