Bills to play Broncos in first round of AFC playoffs
ORCHARD PARK, NY (WHEC) – After Sunday’s afternoon slate ended, the Bills officially have their first-round matchup–at home against the Denver Broncos.
The Broncos (10-7) beat the Chiefs (15-2) who rested most of their starters including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, 38-0, to punch their ticket to the playoffs. Denver has won five of their last seven games and boasts a top-five scoring defense (19.4 points allowed per game heading into week 18) with the most sacks in the NFL with 63 on the season.
Denver is led by rookie quarterback Bo Nix, who was the 12th overall pick in this year’s draft, and has thrown 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions on the season along with four rushing scores. Sean Payton, the Super Bowl XLIV winning head coach, is the team’s bench boss.
The time, date and broadcast details for the game will be announced during Sunday Night Football on News10NBC.
