Three Section V volleyball teams win respective NYSPHSAA Titles

Three Section V volleyball squads have won their respective NYS title over the weekend.

Fairport girls volleyball claimed their first New York State title with a 3-1 win over Shenendehowa on Saturday. The Red Raiders win the AAA title, the biggest in New York State. Fairport went 16-1 in the regular season with their lone loss coming against Brighton.

Pittsford Sutherland girls volleyball picked up their fourth state title in program history with a 3-1 win over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on Sunday. The Knights went 15-2 in the regular season.

Last, but not least–on the boys side, Penfield won the Division I State title on Saturday. The Patriots swept Ward Melville and capped off an undefeated season. This is the program’s fourth time winning the state championship.

Brighton girls volleyball was also at the state tournament but lost in the semifinal pool play.
