What’s At Stake?
The Buffalo Bills need to get back in the win column. A loss to the New York Jets not only made the AFC East race a bit tighter but also brought in some cause for concern:
Are the Bills okay?
You might call it an overreaction, but for a team with Super Bowl goals, a loss to the New York Jets – however much improved they may be – is going to ruffle some feathers.
Call it outside noise, prisoner of the moment, whatever it may be, the Buffalo Bills can silence the critics with a win over the 7-1 Vikings.
Last Time Out: Jets – 20, Bills – 17
For the second time this season, the Bills lost a single-possession game to a divisional rival. Last weeks loss was more of a shocker, as the Bills were double-digit favorites against the Jets.
A tough Jets defense fooled the Bills all day long. Josh Allen threw two interceptions for the second game in a row and barely reached 200 passing yards on the day. Allen did rush for 86 yards and two touchdowns, but the rest of the Bills’ ground game was almost non-existent.
Defensively, Buffalo held New York in check. However, the Jets were able to take some time of the clock with a few long drives. The last lasted over six minutes and ended in a field goal that sealed the win for Gang Green.
Bills Player To Watch
Josh Allen
Against the Packers, I tabbed Allen as the player to watch, because of the nature of a Prime Time game. This time, it’s for a reason Bills Mafia dreads.
Allen is nursing a UCL injury on his throwing elbow. Bills medical staff and doctors ruled him good to go, although fans are certainly not overly excited about their star quarterback’s injury.
If Allen looks good and passes for a classic 300-yard game, I’m sure a lot of worries will be relieved. But until then, there might be a few gasps the first time #17 gets hit.
