ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WHEC) – Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said on Thursday that he plans on playing “most” of the starters in their week two preseason game vs Denver on Saturday.
During training camp, McDermott had been mum on whether or not Josh Allen would play in the preseason. This clears all of that up.
“I’m not gonna get into how much they’ll play. I’ll would just say the starters will play a healthy amount,” said McDermott.
Last preseason, Allen played in the last game against Green Bay. He completed 20-of-26 passes for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Allen hasn’t favored playing or not playing preseason games in the past, but did say he’ll never turn down playing football, no matter what the stakes are.
“At the end of the day it’s football. I love going out there and playing, so I don’t know if it’s game two, game three, no games, I’m getting ready for the season opener,” said Allen. “Whatever coach says is what I’m willing to do and we’ll go from there.”
The Bills and Broncos will kickoff Saturday’s game at 1 p.m. from Highmark Stadium.
