RIT requiring proof of vaccination at hockey games starting next month
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Institute of Technology will soon require all spectators 12 and older to show proof of vaccination to attend hockey games at the Gene Polisseni Center.
The rule will go into effect starting Saturday, Nov. 6, with the women’s hockey game against Syracuse.
Everyone inside the Gene Polisseni Center will still be required to wear a mask.
Spectators will need to show proof that they are fully vaccinated, meaning that they need to have received their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least two weeks prior to the game, or their single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two weeks prior to the game.
RIT will not accept a negative COVID-19 test for entry.
RIT will accept a hard copy, photocopy, digital copy, or photo of your vaccination card, the New York State Excelsior Pass or another government-issued digital proof of vaccination.
It is also asking people to bring a valid photo ID that matches your proof of vaccination document.
RIT says season ticket holders and single-game ticket buyers will receive an email with information about refunds. All ticket holders who want a refund must request one by Friday, Nov. 5.
