Brother and sister accused of leading police on chase that ended in crash on I-590
WAYNE COUNTY, N.Y. — A brother and sister were arrested after Wayne County sheriff’s deputies say they led police on a chase in a stolen car that crashed on I-590 on Monday night.
Deputies say Chyenne Gonyeau, 25 of Wolcott, drove away with an SUV that was left running in a parking lot in the Village of Wolcott. Deputies say they chased the SUV through multiple towns in both Wayne and Monroe Counties. New York State Police assisted. The chase ended on Monday night on I-590 near the Empire Boulevard exit.
Deputies say both Chyenne Gonyeau and her brother Jacob Gonyeau were in the car. Chyenne Gonyeau was charged with grand larceny, criminal mischief, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, and multiple traffic citations. She was taken to the Wayne County Jail, was released, and will appear in court in March.
Jacob Gonyeau was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and was released on an appearance ticket. He will also appear in court in March.
