A local business is celebrating its first year today in the South Wedge. It’s called Women of Color New York, and it’s a collection of 10 businesses, all owned by women of color under one umbrella.
They offer a variety of products and services including fashion, beauty, wellness, art, and desserts, their most popular dessert is banana pudding, in 43 different flavors.
There was a celebration with food, guests, vendors, and a fashion show.
“It’s been amazing. The community has been really supportive, the business owners are all absolutely fantastic. We’re here to support each other, while we’re growing our own businesses. We’re in an area of the South Wedge where people are just so responsive in a great way, of course to Women of Color New York, being right on the corner of South and Hamilton,” said Connie Marple, Found and Owner of Women of Color New York.
The women are grateful for the community support and they are excited to remain open for the years to come.
