Moody was behind the wheel of a car that jumped the curb on Dewey Avenue and Stone Road in Greece and struck Dambra. Police say moody was speeding.
Moody’s attorney, Tracy Sullivan argued that Moody has suffered from life-long mental health issues and did not take his medication on the day of the crash, saying he experienced a psychotic break.
Moody pleaded guilty in July to second-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Judge Tom Moran asked the department of corrections to not enroll Moody in any program that would allow him early release.
News10NBC spoke with Dambra’s daughter after the sentencing.
“After the judge said that he doesn’t want any early release, or anything, no programs. a little bit of justice. A little bit,” Hailey Dambra said.
