Contractor charged with grand larceny in Batavia

BATAVIA, N.Y. — A contractor is facing felony charges after an arrest in Genesee County.
Police say Michael Sweet, 37, of Batavia was paid to renovate a house there. They say he took the money but never did the work.
Sweet was arrested last Friday, Jan. 26, and issued an appearance ticket. He has been charged with grand larceny and is due back in court next week.
