ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Crews battled flames that shot up from the roof of a church in the Upper Falls Neighborhood on Thursday night.
The fire spread from the first floor to the second, causing part of the roof to collapse. The Rochester Fire Department arrived just before 7 p.m. and had to fight the fire from the outside. It took over two hours to get under control.
People inside a neighboring building had to evacuate during the fire as a precaution but crews were able to stop the fire from spreading. No one was injured. RFD is still investigating the cause of the fire.
