RFD: Smoking believed to be the cause of house fire in Corn Hill

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Fire Department says smoking is believed to be the cause of a house fire in the city’s Corn Hill neighborhood overnight.
Firefighters responded to a call for heavy smoke at the home on Price Lane on Monday just before midnight. RFD was able to contain the fire to one room.
RFD says a dog escaped from the home during the fire but hasn’t been found, even after crews searched the area.
