ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Area Crime Stoppers announced its annual campaign to raise money for the K9 Initiative. The program supports 30 local K9 police dog teams from the Rochester Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Gates Police, Greece Police and Brockport Police.
The 2022 campaign goal is to continue providing financial assistance for the purchase of new K9 puppies. In 2021, the K9 Fund exceeded expectations and provided money to purchase two K9 puppies. It also supported emergency veterinary expenses, obstacle course upgrades, and training equipment and supplies.
This year, Crime Stoppers is partnering with RallyUp, an online fundraising platform helping non-profits. You can donate here or here.
Jack, the most senior K9 within the Rochester Police Department, turned nine years old on Tuesday.
CountryMax Stores and Bagel Land in Brighton have donation jars at their local stores. The fundraiser runs through September 30th.
