ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The 14th annual East Avenue Grocery Run was held Saturday morning to benefit food pantries in the Rochester area.

Participants were able to choose from 1K, 5K and 10K options. Last year’s run raised more than $57,000. Parts of East Avenue were shut down for it.

The run provides funding to 24 Rochester area food cupboards and emergency meal programs, essentially putting food on the table for thousands of hungry children, families and senior citizens. Everyone’s registration fee goes directly to those food organizations.
