ROCHESTER, N.Y. A cloudy start to our day so far, and the cloudy skies will likely continue through our Sunday.
We are also on the milder side of things this morning, but unlike yesterday afternoon where highs reached the mid and upper 80s, we will be stuck in the low 70s thanks to the thick cloud cover.
Today will generally be dry as overcast skies take over, but an isolated rain shower cannot be ruled out this afternoon and evening. Best chance for a shower will be in the Finger Lakes, but most if not all will be dry.
A better chance for showers locally will arrive late this evening and through Labor Day morning. Low pressure will track along a cold front to our south and bring us a good chance for scattered showers and widespread rain to the south.
Along the lakeshore, only a few scattered showers are expected this evening and through the late morning hours tomorrow, while in the Finger Lakes we are expecting a better chance for widespread rain into early tomorrow morning before dying out in the early afternoon.
Rain totals will vary drastically across our region as folks north of the thruway will likely only see upwards of half an inch while areas south of the thruway could see over .5″ of rain with areas closest to the southern tier potentially seeing near or over an inch.
No flooding is expected, but rain tomorrow morning south does have a potential to be heavy, limiting visibility on roadways.
