First Alert Weather: Hot today and humid with storms tomorrow

ROCHESTER, N.Y. Another comfy and clear start locally, but we will warm up once again today.

High temperatures this afternoon will reach the upper 80s and near 90 for many. The silver lining for today’s heat is that it will not be humid as dew points remain low.

Sunshine will greet us most of today as well before a chance for a stray shower or storm late today. Other than the shower or storm chance late this afternoon, many will enjoy a summer day with heat and sun.

A better chance for rain arrives Sunday as a cold front approaches form the west. Sunday will not be a washout, but scattered showers and storms are expected.

Early tomorrow morning, a round of rain is possible before we dry out by the middle of the day. Then Sunday afternoon, a better chance for showers and storms moves in late.

Rain may be heavy at times, but no flooding is expected. A gusty shower or storm is possible, but widespread damaging severe weather is not expected.

Also, with the moisture in place we will see the dew points increase. Dew points become a bit humid late tonight before becoming muggy on Sunday.
