First Alert Weather: Wet weather returns this week
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — We hope everyone had a happy and healthy Christmas on Monday and enjoyed the beautiful weather but changes arrive starting Tuesday.
There is more cloud cover yet consistently mild temperatures on Tuesday morning. The mild weather will continue through Tuesday and Wednesday with highs near 50 but rain will return to the forecast.
A few isolated showers will be possible on Tuesday morning but a better chance for showers pops up on Tuesday afternoon. A rain out is not expected but, a from time-to-time Tuesday afternoon, an occasional shower will be possible.
Showers persist through Tuesday night before widespread rain arrives by daybreak Wednesday. Rain continues through the morning hours on Wednesday before transitioning to scattered showers Wednesday afternoon.
Rain early Wednesday will be heavy at times and create some pooling and ponding and a threat for low visibility on the roads. Scattered showers continue for Wednesday afternoon before turning isolated Wednesday night.
Rain accumulations by Thursday morning will be healthy as areas east of Rochester will see between 0.5 inches and 1 inch of rain. Areas Rochester west will likely see a little less with 0.25-5 inches of rain expected. No flooding forecasted but this rain is beneficial for our region.
