ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Brennan Somers had his final sign-off on Friday morning. What’s next for him? Here is Brennan’s final good question and a message from his family and the News10NBC Today family.
Let’s answer a good question about change. We’ve answered hundreds of good questions in recent years. A few of the qualifiers we consider, is this something more than one person has asked about and is it timely.
The answer for this one, yes and yes. It’s about me. If you didn’t know, Friday is my last day.
First, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ve been so blessed throughout my career, more importantly my time in Rochester. I came to News10NBC five years ago.
Since then, I got married to my beautiful wife Stephanie. We started a family, a now two-and-a-half-year-old Brooklyn. Number #2 is on the way. Our next baby girl will be here this Christmas.
To the viewers who’ve reached out in recent days with well wishes and support. I’ll never be able to thank you enough for spending mornings with us.
Many of you have asked me, what’s next?
The short answer to that is I’m going home. Full-time Daddy B Daycare as we jokingly call it, truly the best job. A girl dad.
I’m going to help out mom, the rock of my life, so she can hopefully get some sleep. She’s also putting a list of tasks together for me to take care of around the house.
That’s the plan for the next few months. Long term, I still have to figure that one out. I’m not moving by the way. We’re staying in Webster. We love it here and it’s close to family, which in many ways includes you.
Thank you again. You’re in great hands here with the News10NBC team. Our wonderful people on-air and behind the scenes. They’ll be just fine and I’ll be watching.
