Health careers school graduates 60-plus future nurses; receives $1.5M grant
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — More than 60 future nurses graduated from the Rochester General College of Health Careers and the Isabella Graham Hart School of Practical Nursing on Thursday evening.
These graduates have completed degrees in either Practical Nursing (PN) or Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) to become registered nurses through hands-on training and instruction from experienced clinical experts.
As well, ESL Charitable Foundation donated a three-year, $1.5 million grant that allows the school to offer direct support to low-income and under-served students.
“I never thought I’d see the end of it, so waking up on graduation day was definitely a trip, because I can’t believe I finally made it here. It was a long ways from the application period all the way to starting our first day of classes and then the addition of clinicals and sim-lab. It was definitely well worth it,” said Kate Dessalines, a graduating nurse
