SPENCERPORT, N.Y. — One local organization is receiving a free roof replacement from Spencerport-based Oaks Construction.
Homesteads for Hope was chosen through a write-in campaign for Oak’s “Oak-tober” roof giveaway. Construction started early Tuesday morning and is expected to be completed by the end of the day.
“So it’s literally going out all the way over here,” said Jenny Brongo, founder and CEO of Homesteads for Hope. “That’ll actually be a window in the kitchen and there will be a doorway that goes out. This will be a sunroom gather space and a wraparound porch. This is the heart of the organization behind me.”
Homesteads for Hope is a community farm founded in 2013 to empower people of all abilities to learn, work, live, and grow in nature’s classroom.
