Honor Flight Rochester’s Mission 73 provides 57 veterans with “the trip of a lifetime”

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Veterans returned to the Rochester Airport on Sunday after an Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C. Dozens of volunteers and community members were there to welcome them back from Mission 73.
Honor Flight Rochester Missions provide local veterans with what has been described as “the trip of a lifetime.” Veteran applications never expire, and their placement on the fly list advances with each flown mission.
Fifty-seven veterans flew on the mission: 5 Korean War veterans, 6 Cold War veterans, 1 Cold War, 45 Vietnam War veterans. The branches of service are Army (26), Navy (15), Air Force (9), and Marines (7).
Since 2008 including Mission 73, Honor Flight has flown 3,603 veterans. The trips are funded entirely through the generosity of individuals, organizations, corporations, and volunteers.
