House hit by gunfire in Newark; Officers detain people inside car

NEWARK, N.Y. — Newark Police are investigating after bullets went through a home on Madison Street and officers found a handgun in the backyard of a nearby street.

Officers responded around 4 p.m. on Sunday, learning that shots had been fired and cars were involved, sending people running. Officers detained several people inside a car. Newark Police have not made any arrests yet.
