ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester optics company GS Optics has been bought by an international photonics company.
G&H Optics and Photonics announced that it’s expanding its business to downtown Rochester. The announcement came during a news conference on Wednesday at the rooftop of NextCorps.
The company says it selected Rochester because of its highly skilled workforce in the photonics industry.
Right now, the Rochester-based GS Optics employs more than 60 people on St. Paul Street.
“What we intend to do is grow the technology and grow the professions within our business. We’ve got a great training program we like to have folks go through to help grow talent within the optics and photonics industry,” G&H chief operating officer John Andzulis said.
