Teen remains in critical condition after deadly Beechwood neighborhood shooting
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A 16-year-old is still fighting for his life after a triple shooting in the Beechwood neighborhood on Monday afternoon. That shooting injured two teens and killed a 19-year-old.
Rochester Police said on Thursday morning that the 16-year-old boy remains in critical condition. The other boy, 15, is in stable condition and is expected to survive.
The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. on Hazelwood Terrace near Denver Street. Rochester Police responded for the report of gunfire. When they got there, they found a crowd in the street and the three teenage victims.

The morning after the shooting, Rochester Police announced that Rukia Issack, 19, had died of her injuries. She was rushed into surgery after being shot but died several hours later.
Investigators believe the three teens were walking when an unknown number of people showed up and started firing. Investigators are working now to figure out if the three were the intended target.
“It’s a great community and the violence that we do deal with is a very small portion of the city. This is not a reflection of the actual city of itself. The senseless violence is completely unnecessary,” said RPD Capt. Adam Radens.
At the scene, there was a group gathered around a home on Parsells Avenue next to a tree that had dozens of red and white balloons tied around it. Violence outreach members said someone was killed there just a few months ago and that group was celebrating the victim’s birthday on Monday. Police say they have no reason to believe the two shootings are connected.
As of right now, police don’t have anyone in custody. They’re asking anyone with information to call 911 and for people who live in the neighborhood to check their security cameras.
