ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man was shot and killed around lunchtime Monday in Charlotte.
Lt. Greg Bello said police were called just after noon for some sort of argument or fight on Harding Road off of Lake Avenue.
There, they found a man outside of a home with at least one gunshot wound. A man has been detained.
Police are still sorting out how the men are connected to the neighborhood.
“We don’t see violence up in this part of the city very often, and certainly it’s uncommon and comes as a shock to people who live on this street,” he said.
Aaron Rebis lives nearby.
“I wish I can say I was more shocked but I know there is a decent amount of crime in the area,” he said. “But it’s definitely unsettling. Troubling for sure.”
Technicians spent hours collecting evidence and processing the scene. The road was reopened around 4:45 p.m.
This marks the city’s 21st homicide this year.
