A local doctor has been recognized for her contributions to science.
Dr. Lynne Maquat is the director of the University of Rochester Center for RNA Biology. She was awarded the 2024 Albany Medical Center Prize in Medicine and Biomedical Research.
Her research focused on RNA and how it affects a wide range of diseases such as cystic fibrosis, cancer, and fragile-X syndrome.
