Local retirement community celebrates National Senior Citizens Day with beach-themed picnic

VICTOR, N.Y. – Sunday is National Senior Citizen Day and one local retirement community is celebrating in a special way. The Legacy Community at Fairways in Victor held a celebratory picnic and beach dance party. There were all the picnic staples, hamburgers, hotdogs, and corn. They also had an open bar with beach-themed drinks!

“I feel like it’s important because it just shows the sense of community and the sense of family that The Legacy at Fairways really stands for. I think it’s important, especially when you’re working with seniors, because you want every day for them to feel really good, to feel special and uplifted because they are getting older and it is a great way to celebrate them,” said Bianca Ensman, Community Life Director.
