SCOTTSVILLE, N.Y. — The deadly shooting of a man in Scottsville is under criminal investigation.

Kevin DeFlavis, 43, of Scottsville was found shot to death around 2 a.m. Sunday on Main Street.

Deputies spent the rest of the day interviewing people in the neighborhood.

They say there is no threat to the community, and they’re asking anyone with information to call 911.

“It’s certainly unusual, and any time someone is killed it’s a tragedy,” Undersheriff Korey Brown said. “It’s time for community members to come together and for us to work together and help those in need and try to make this a better place.”

No word yet on the circumstances of the shooting and whether anyone is in custody.
