RPD releases name of man, 37, killed in hit and run on Lyell Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police have released the name of the man killed in a hit and run on Lyell Avenue near Orchard Street on Thursday around midnight.
RPD says a vehicle hit Hanif Moffett while he was walking on the road. He died at the scene. Police said on Thursday that they found the driver and the vehicle involved.
RPD hasn’t filed charges and the hit and run is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
