UPDATE: Police release name of man shot, killed on E. Main St.

UPDATE, 12 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9: Police have identified the man who was shot and killed Friday on East Main Street as 30-year-old city resident Ordie Overton Jr.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. Rochester police are now investigating the city’s 66th homicide of the year.
RPD was called to the parking lot of an apartment building on East Main Street around 11 p.m. Friday for the report of a person shot. When they got there, they found a man in his 30s who had been shot multiple times.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police don’t know the motive behind this, and they don’t have anyone in custody.
“Anytime someone gets shot and killed it is concerning, especially [since] this is normally a quiet neighborhood,” Cpt. Frank Umbrino said. “There is some local entertainment spots close by. Hopefully this is an isolated incident.”
