UPDATE: The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office thanks the public for their assistance in this matter. Ultimately, the driver came forward and was issued citations for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and moving from the lane unsafely. The pedestrian was transported to Strong Hospital for non-life threating injuries. 

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a car accident where a pedestrian was struck. The accident happened in front of Tops plaza located on Penfield Rd in the Town of Penfield at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. A red SUV/Crossover type of vehicle hit a man who was operating a motorized scooter, then left the area without stopping. Anyone with any information is asked to call 911.
