ROCHESTER, N.Y. On Thursday, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and Rochester Mayor Malik Evans announced a new campaign to get more young men and women into trades and construction careers.
They say jobs in those industries are both personally and financially rewarding while also a way to grow the economy.
“The largest thing about this Local and all the Locals that are represented here today and throughout the country is the training. The training that they offer is state of the art and without that training, I wouldn’t be standing here today,” said Jim Caternolo, business agent at Local 13.
The county and city each approved $100,000 to the construction trades council to support today’s campaign.
