Multiple families displaced by apartment building fire on Ames Street

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Multiple families lost their apartments and are now being assisted by the Red Cross after a fire Thursday night.
The Rochester Fire Department says the fire on Ames Street started around 10:15 p.m. on the first floor. everyone was able to make it out safely.
The apartment building suffered fire and smoke damage and investigators are still working to determine the cause.
