New bill introduced in honor of Sgt. Gary Beikirch

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — There’s a new bill aimed at helping the families of Medal of Honor recipients.
It’s called the Sergeant Gary Beikirch Medal of Honor Act after the local veteran. Congressman Joe Morelle says the goal is to ensure the surviving spouses of military veterans get the full survivors’ benefits they qualify for.
Morelle introduced the legislation, joined by Beikirch’s widow and daughter at his memorial at Highland Park in Rochester.
