ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A new $7 million brain injury unit at Strong Hospital opened on Tuesday.
The Acute Brain Injury NeuroRehabilitation Unit will treat patients recovering from traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and brain tumors. It includes 11 beds and will offer care to patients to help them regain physical and cognitive abilities.
A nurse at Strong spent 40 days recovering from a brain injury after a skiing accident at Whiteface mountain that snapped her helmet in half.
“It’s important to have a system beside you,” said Desiree Rosdahl.
