Police identify victim in Saturday crash on Main Street in Dansville

DANSVILLE, N.Y. — A motorcyclist from Rochester was killed in a crash in front of the Kwik Fill on Main Street in the Village of Dansville on Saturday. Dansville police today identified the motorcyclist as Joshua A. Lott, 32.
According to Dansville police, Lott was headed south with a passenger on Main Street at about 4 p.m. when a northbound vehicle turned left in front of him, trying to pull into Kwik Fill. They crashed, and Lott was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital with multiple injuries. The driver of the motor vehicle was taken to Noyes Hospital in Dansville with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the vehicle refused treatment from EMS.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
Assisting Dansville police were the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, New York State Park Police, Dansville Fire Department, Dansville Ambulance, Livingston County EMS and Mercy Flight Central.
