Man in custody after police surround apartment building on East Main Street

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 54-year-old man is in custody after Rochester Police surrounded an apartment building on East Main Street near Herkimer Street on Thursday night.
RPD arrived around 10 p.m. after getting a call for a man threatening someone with a handgun. Officers surrounded the building for several hours until the man came out. Police determined that what appeared to be a handgun was actually a BB gun.
