ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Monroe County sheriff’s deputies have released the name of the man who died on I-390 after he was involved in a crash, got out of his car, and was hit in the roadway.
Deputies say Daniel Burke, 63, of Rochester was hit and killed on Tuesday night. It happened in the northbound lanes near Exit 21 to Lyell Avenue around 11:30 p.m.
Deputies say Burke hit the back of an ambulance with his car on I-390 near Chili Avenue and kept driving. He then hit a guide rail and construction sign, which is when he got out of his car.
Deputies performed CPR on Burke but he died by the time medical crews arrived at the scene. The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to call 911.
