Police: Driver in stolen car causes crash at Monroe and North Goodman; still at large

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The person who drove a stolen Hyundai through a red light Tuesday at Monroe Avenue and North Goodman Street, causing a four-vehicle crash, has not yet been located.

While Rochester Police didn’t characterize any of the injuries in the crash as serious, three people were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Rochester Police were trying to block traffic to assist a disabled vehicle on Monroe Avenue at around 6:42 p.m. when a 2018 Hyundai — later learned to have been stolen out of Irondequoit — drove through the scene and through the red light at Monroe Avenue and North Goodman Street, causing a four-vehicle crash. The driver ran off on foot and had not yet been found as of 10:46 p.m. Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
